Jill Fairbairns (BA MSc C Psychol AFBPsS)

Executive Coach and Organisation Consultant

Jill Fairbairns specialises in coaching senior executives, functional specialists and managers to develop their strengths and self-awareness in the field of leadership in large organisations.

I believe that personal change and development comes from building on what is, rather than what should be. This can open the door to a new kind of learning. Often it means looking at ourselves, our roles, our working relationships and our whole organisations from different angles. It can mean developing new frames of reference and letting go of old ones. This in turn can open the door to a new kind of learning. What’s clear is that most people feel very positive about the discoveries that they make during coaching, and find they can create a new impact when putting them into practice.

As a coach, I can help people to take the first few steps on this transformational journey.

Professional expertise

Jill is a chartered psychologist and organisation consultant working in both the private and public sectors of the economy. She has extensive coaching and consulting experience in national, multinational and global companies across different industries. Her expertise is in coaching individuals and teams, in change management, and in learning and personal change. She also works as a coaching supervisor and consultant to consultants.

I’m a painter as well as a coach and approach both occupations thoughtfully, drawing on both inspiration and past experience.

As a coach, I have always delighted in new learning, participating in courses and workshops and collecting books, and experimenting with what I've learnt. I've provided training in facilitation skills, influencing techniques and meeting management. I've also trained trainers and coaches.

My work has taken me into a wide range of organisations, e.g. from public administration to discovery research, from mineral extraction to banking, from aircraft maintenance to pharmaceutical development. I learn a lot from my clients and store case examples of different situations at the back of my mind.

Taking all this experience together with my personal development, I have accumulated a store of models, tools and techniques that I use to tailor unique coaching plans for my clients, and to provide relevant inputs and exercises for our coaching sessions.

I find I can really make a difference.
